PixelWhip 4: Updated for How You Actually Play

PixelWhip 4: Updated for How You Actually Play

What We Improved — and Why

Quick version, if you're in a hurry:

  • PixelWhip 4 just got a quiet but hard-won hardware upgrade — same prop, same modes, same feel, just more reliable and easier to live with

  • Putting the handle back on after charging is now easier and more controlled

  • No more false low-battery shutoffs during hard play

  • The handle base is now rounded — gentler on you if it swings your way

  • One heads-up: the revised PW4H parts aren't interchangeable with older PW4 parts — keep your handle sets together!

This is a running update to the existing PixelWhip 4, not a new product. New units shipping now are the PW4H (H for handle). Everything else you know and love stays the same — so keep the last tip in mind and go play!

Easier, more reliable battery assembly

One of the things experienced flow artists notice immediately — and that newer players come to appreciate over time — is how much the little things matter. The handle connection is one of those things. It’s the kind of detail that takes repeated redesigns and careful consideration, but you’ll feel the difference immediately.

The new geometry guides the battery into alignment automatically as you close the handle, so by the time the threads engage, everything is where it needs to be. It’s less like assembling something and more like closing a latch — satisfying and repeatable.

There's still a bit of spring resistance when you close it up, and yes, that’s intentional. That's what keeps everything secure during play! But it's now controlled and predictable, so there’s less fumbling, less frustration, and less risk of inadvertently stressing the internals during reassembly. More time playing, less time fussing.

More stable power during hard play

We've added internal rubber bumpers inside the handle — a small addition with a real impact on your flow experience. They absorb the force of hard swings and dynamic movement, so the electrical springs can focus on their actual job: keeping the circuit connected. The result is more consistent power and fewer interruptions,* even during the most intense sessions.

*Momentary power dips can trigger a false low-battery alarm; the updated design helps prevent this.

A handle contoured with fiber-wielding in mind

Our padded foam grip has always been our first line of defense against impact— more protective than the others on the market, which can treat handle padding as an afterthought. With the PW4H, we've gone a step further: the end cap of the handle is now rounded for a smoother feel.

Rounded edge plus padded grip means a lot safer play if the handle makes contact while you’re practicing! As always, be aware of your space and the people around you; we've done our part to make the hardware as forgiving as possible.
